The TextMine Sync application requires the following:

  • Microsoft Outlook 2000
  • Windows 2000
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or later

I have forgotten my password. How do I obtain a new one?

If you forget your password, please e-mail support quoting your:

  • user name
  • mobile number.
  • Please also let us know the current e-mail address which you would like us to use.

What Personal Information Management (PIM) applications does TextMine support?

TextMine currently supports Outlook 2000 in standalone (single user) mode. Of course, any user can immediately begin using TextMine online.

Furthermore, SMS Hotkeys can be used in almost any application: Palm Desktop, Outlook, ACT!, Access and many, many others.

What countries can use SMS features to retrive their information - Virtual PDA?

Users who have messages on account can use the text message (SMS) capability in any country in the list above. For non-UK users, the following number should be used:

+44 7781 484916

You will need a GSM mobile phone capable of SMS text messaging to activate your account for Virtual PDA use, failing which you can still send messages from the TextMine site.

Users of any TextMine® product with UK phone numbers can use the service wherever in the world they have their usual text capability.

How do I enter a mobile number?

UK mobiles can enter a number in either the standard format starting with 07 or in international format starting with +44.

International users must use the international format starting with +XX (where XX is the country code). A full list of these codes can be found on the BT website.

I am a Virgin Mobile user. Can I use TextMine?

At present Virgin Mobile does not support third party short codes.

Fortunately, Virgin users can still use TextMine Standard and Professional. The following number should be used:

Please note that this is only for using the Virtual PDA feature. Virgin users can send messages as normal.

When I click on the synchronize button I receive a message telling me that a program is trying to access e-mail addresses in Outlook. What should I do?

Microsoft has introduced security features into Outlook to prevent the proliferation of malicious computer viruses. Consequently, if you have these security features enabled, TextMine Sync cannot access your Contact list without your permission.

When you receive the warning, estimate how long you will be using the TextMine Sync application and select the appropriate length of time for access to your Contacts/Appointments. For example, select 5 minutes, check the Allow access for box and click Yes.

Note: Access will expire when you close TextMine Sync, so if you restart it within the selected time you will have to grant fresh permissions.

When I try to send a message using SMS Hotkeys, I receive a message saying 'Invalid procedure call or argument'. How do I make it disappear?

When using SMS Hotkeys, you may see the following message:

To proceed, please take the following steps:

  • Click OK to dismiss the above message.
  • Click somewhere on the RED area of the 'SMS Hotkeys - Sending...' panel (shown below). This will dismiss the red panel.

  • Simply click Send to re-send the message.
