London - June 2003. TextMine Limited has recently given employees the ability to search company contact and appointment databases using SMS with its TextMine Enterprise software. It also features a powerful web-based tool for sending SMS text messages.
Field employees can now access Calendar and Contact information within seconds from any location, and at any time. They can also update diary information remotely. Employees send a text message to an assigned number containing a simple command. They then receive a message with the requested information.
TextMine Enterprise will install rapidly into any existing corporate system with no painful integration and complete platform independence. It provides fast, low-cost, secure data by SMS using standard mobile phones.
Desk-based staff can log in via any browser either inside or outside the office to view data, and send messages and contact details via SMS.
Other features include: SMS appointment reminders; synchronization with MS Outlook; Internet access to Contacts and Calendar; sending messages from your private web page; delivery status displayed on-line; sending of contact details direct to your phone; and a message archive of sent messages for audit purposes.
The aim is to slice through the high cost of supplying and maintaining portable devices for large workforces. PDAs can cost several hundred pounds excluding the cost of expensive central synchronization software. Add to this many hours of support staff time to replace, configure, and maintain the hand-held computers when things go wrong.
A scaled down version of the software is currently available for small businesses known as TextMine Professional. This application is hosted by TextMine and no installation is required.
